CLINIC-BASED SERVICES
Program
Description
The
Purpose of the Adult Clinic Based Services Program at PCMHS is to provide
clinical assessment and treatment services for individuals and families who are
experiencing a disruption in their normal level of functioning due to mental
illness, mental illness and chemical dependency or emotional distress.
Clinic
Based Services are available 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday at our
Clinic offices in Greer and Simpsonville. Other
times are available on an as-needed basis. After-hours
emergencies are managed by the designated on-call staff and can be reached by
calling Crisis Line.
The
Clinic Based Services Program provides an initial screening and assessment to
anyone over the age of eighteen seeking mental health services.
Continued treatment is determined by the preferences and needs identified
through the initial clinical assessment. Persons
eligible for continued treatment must have an Axis I diagnosis and be able to
benefit from this level of service.
The
philosophy of the Clinic Based Services Program is to provide services to adults
and families, based on the
individual’s needs and preferences, with a focus on building or increasing the
individual’s existing strengths and abilities.
Emphasis is place on helping the individual to accomplish his or her
self-described goals, as well as, increasing his or her ability to function in
the community.

Persons
with a co-occurring substance abuse disorders may be served in cooperation with
the local Drug and Alcohol Abuse Commission.
All
service locations are Handicap Accessible.
Facilities
and Resources
Clinic Based Program services are available at our clinic locations in Greer and Simpsonville. Both facilities are handicap accessible and are located centrally to the communities they serve. The clinic offices provide adequate space for private and confidential interviews, group interventions and family conferences.
Clinic
Based Program services are provided by an array of professional staff, all
credentialed at the Mental Health Professional level.
Professionally trained counselors, psychologists, social workers, nurses
and medical doctors, (several of which are Board Certified in Psychiatry) make
up our out-patient staff.
